” Woman in Leadership, SEX, GREED AND WAR: It’s a Leadership Issue, Not a B Movie”
presented by Ariane David, PhD
What’s up with sex, greed and war? Why they are the most resilient and persistent issues today? What keeps the whole mess so stuck? What if they have less to do with human nature, and everything to do with leadership?
What if we’re asking all the wrong questions when it comes to leadership? What if we have completely ignored what might be our most promising leadership tool? Where does “thinking” come into it?
And finally, what does it mean to you and your organization?
Ariane David PhD Bio:
Dr. Ariane David is director of The Veritas Group, a consulting and training firm that focuses on critical thinking and problem solving in organizations in all sectors. She is a resident scholar and senior lecturer at Woodbury University in the Department of Leadership.
At the core of her work is the principle that underlying every problem is a way of thinking that keeps the problem in place: understand the thinking, solve the problem.
Her current research and the topic of her upcoming book focuses on a systems perspective of sex, war, and greed . She examines the conditions and myths keep these pernicious and resilient problems in place, and the common thread that binds them together.
Some questions she considers: Are we asking the right questions? Are humans innately competitive, hoarding, and warlike? If women ruled the world would anyone ever have recreational sex again?
